Minister Stef Blok of Foreign Affairs
travels today for a visit to Sint Maarten, Aruba, Curaçao and Colombia where he
will mainly talk about the worrisome situation in Venezuela. Venezuela is in a
deep crisis. Because of the problems, many people flee to neighboring
countries, such as the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom and Colombia. There are
also talks about the consequences of hurricane Irma on Sint Maarten and the
reconstruction. After his visit to Sint Maarten, Aruba and Curaçao, the
minister ends his trip on Thursday in Colombia. Here too, the flow of refugees
from neighboring Venezuela is high on the agenda. The peace process in Colombia
and the Dutch contribution to it are also discussed. More…
