Curacao: Visitor Arrival Trend Impacted By Volatile Venezuelan Market


After the positive developments of the first five months, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) has now recorded a decline in visitor arrivals for the month of June. The total number of stay over arrivals decreased by 8%in June, dropping from 33.084 in June 2014 to 30.475 in June 2015. This 8% decrease equals 2.609 less visitors. Despite the fact that both the European and North American regions recorded firm growth in June 2015, the decrease in the South American region could not be compensated. The fall in arrivals from Venezuela has resulted in negative overall growth for Curaçao in the past month of June. More…
