It’s been a year since Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo
Lopez was jailed and some 40 people were killed during street protests. And
Venezuela is worse off. “We are facing I would say, a perfect storm,” says
Carlos Vecchio, the right-hand man to Lopez and national political coordinator
for the opposition party Voluntad Popular. “Not only from the economic point of
view, but also from the social point of view and the political point of view.” In
