Hundreds of healthcare workers in
Venezuela marched on Tuesday in Caracas to demand that the government pay them
a decent wage and other benefits, and at the same time make improvements to
public hospitals that are going through “a generalized crisis,” mainly due to
the lack of medicines and medical supplies. “Our requests are completely social
– wages, we can’t live on these wages, our wages were agreed back with the
collective contract that expired two years ago... we can’t save anything,” the
head of the Healthcare Workers Federation (Fetrasalud), Pablo Zambrano, told
