Peruvian Interior Minister Carlos
Basombrio on Thursday granted the first temporary-stay permits to Venezuelan
citizens, who decided to regularize their immigration status in the Inca
nation. Said citizens will now be allowed to study, work, have access to health
services and pay taxes under Peruvian law. The permits set the necessary mechanisms to
facilitate the regularization of Venezuelans' immigration status in Peru, thus
reciprocating Venezuela's measures in favor of Peruvians who emigrated decades
