Peru: Venezuelan citizens granted first temporary-stay permits


Peruvian Interior Minister Carlos Basombrio on Thursday granted the first temporary-stay permits to Venezuelan citizens, who decided to regularize their immigration status in the Inca nation. Said citizens will now be allowed to study, work, have access to health services and pay taxes under Peruvian law.  The permits set the necessary mechanisms to facilitate the regularization of Venezuelans' immigration status in Peru, thus reciprocating Venezuela's measures in favor of Peruvians who emigrated decades ago, the official explained.  More…
