The political standoff in Venezuela
continues between Nicolas Maduro's government and self-proclaimed president
Juan Guiado. The regime still has control of state institutions, including the
armed forces. But it also relies on a network of unlikely volunteers, prepared
to defend it against any attacks. The Bolivarian Militia was created by former
president Hugo Chavez and today is said to have 1.6 million members. Our
