Venezuela repaid $1.5 billion in advance
payments received from Russia's energy giant Rosneft in January-September, with
further $3.1 billion remaining to be paid, data provided in a presentation
accompanying a Rosneft report under the International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS) showed on Tuesday. According to the presentation, as of December 31,
2017, Venezuela's advance payments debt totaled $4.6 billion, while as of
September 30, 2018 it was reduced to $3.1 billion. The figures, however, did
not include the interest on arrears, the company indicated. Rosneft earlier
said in its report for January-June of the current year that Venezuela had
reduced its debt by 21.7 percent to $3.6 billion in the first six months of
