Former Presidents of Costa Rica Rejected by Venezuela

Former Presidents of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla Miranda and Miguel Angel Rodriguez were supposed to be part of the international delegation of observers, along with three legislators; however, their requests for accreditation were rejected. Costa Rican news daily La Nacion quoted former President Rodriguez, who explained that the Venezuelan National Council of Elections never granted accreditation to the delegates from Costa Rica, who were ultimately invited by members of the opposition. Former President Chinchilla explained that the delegates from Costa Rica, who are currently in Caracas, are accompanying voters to the balloting centers and listening to the concerns of the people.
