Venezuela’s human rights record,
including as a member of the Human Rights Council, should preclude it from
serving another term on the council, 36 international and Latin American human
rights organizations said today. Elections for the 2016-2018 term of the
council will be held in New York on October 28, 2015, by the United Nations
General Assembly. Members of the Human Rights Council are required to uphold

Venezuela’s human rights record,
