Venezuela revises 2014 data to show economy shrank 4 percent

Venezuela's government has revised its economic data for 2014, showing that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) declined 4.0 percent in the worst performance around Latin America, according to a filing on Wednesday in the United States. President Nicolas Maduro had said earlier this year that GDP shrank 3 percent last year. The government has given no GDP data for 2015, to the anger of opponents and consternation of economists.
