Fire breaks out at gas plant in Venezuela


A fire broke out at a gas plant in the northwestern Venezuelan state of Falcon, where Spain's Repsol and Italy's Eni have operations, state-owned oil giant PDVSA said Tuesday. The fire started on Monday night at the Tiguadare Gas Treatment Plant, better known as Cardon IV, forcing PDVSA to activate its contingency plan to ensure that the supply of gas to power plants, households and industrial users was not affected.
