Cop held hostage by prisoners in Venezuela

Prisoners who took control of a police station in Caracas are holding an officer hostage to press their demand to be transferred to another detention center, Venezuelan authorities said Monday. The unrest erupted Sunday night, a police source told EFE, speaking on condition of anonymity. The prisoners, who apparently got their hands on at least two firearms, injured two guards and grabbed another as a hostage. Authorities have cordoned off the area around the police station. More…
