Another Political Prisoner of Venezuela’s Regime Held under House Arrest


It was learned on Tuesday afternoon that the Trial Court No. 15 granted Daniel Ceballos, the former mayor of the San Cristóbal municipality in Táchira state, a measure of house arrest for health reasons until his trial is done. As will be recalled, Ceballos was arrested and imprisoned in the military prison of Ramo Verde after the street demonstrations in February 2014. He is being unjustly accused, and without any evidence, of alleged crimes of rebellion and criminal association. Various human rights organizations have raised their voices of protest and issued protective measures in favor of Ceballos, as have with other political prisoners such as Antonio Ledezma, Leopoldo López, Enzo Scarano, among others.
