The destruction of the Alberta economy could happen in months and would no doubt be met with glee by the anti-oil sands agitators in Rachel Notley’s entourage. If a couple of major industry players leave for greener pastures, there will be line-ups around the block for the minimum wage jobs Notley and her crew are promoting. She would then have no other option but to mortgage future generations to pay for her mistakes.Welcome to Venezuela North. There is widespread disillusionment with our democratic process because voting once every four years does not make a democracy. A similar system to secure online banking to encourage voting on major policy issues would result in increased voter engagement and influence. Rational policies could be promoted and train wrecks that are about to happen could be prevented. A whipped vote would become a relic of the past. More…
