Court demands witnesses in Venezuela envoy murder trial

The High Court on Monday was concerned over the prosecution’s failure to present witnesses in the murder trial of the late Venezuelan envoy Olga Fonseca. Judge Roselyn Korir complained that the State had failed to act to secure Venezuelan witnesses as earlier agreed. The prosecution led by Tabitha Ouya was directed to present a list of Venezuelan witnesses who will be expected to testify. It was further asked to explain how the witnesses were identified. The Venezuelan Embassy had complained over the slow pace of the murder trial against Dwight Saragay and four security guards who have denied committing the offence on July 27, 2012. More…
