NGO requests humanitarian measure for lawyer Marcelo Crovato


Non-governmental organization (NGO) Venezuelan Criminal Forum (FPV) requested the Fourth Court of Appeal to grant a humanitarian measure to lawyer Marcelo Crovato, who has health problems. He tried to commit suicide last Saturday, December 20 at Yare III prison (north central Miranda state), where he was taken back on April 22, without an arrest warrant, amid anti-government demonstrations held between last February and May. "He tied a rope to the window and tried to kill himself. Other inmates could stop him. He was alone in his cell (...). Marcelo suffers from skin cancer, and needs to get a spine surgery.
