Venezuelan Minister Elías Jaua was Never in Brazil


But added to this is the case of Elías Jaua, the Minister of Communes and Social Movements, and his recent trip to Brazil that gets bigger every day. Just like those funny episodes in which a small cause ends up being a major disaster, a formula that worked really well for Charles Chaplin a long time ago. First of all, it was his babysitter, a handgun, some urgent documents and his mother-in-law traveling on a plane owned by state-run oil company PDVSA. This in addition to a confusing explanation on the illness of Jaua’s wife, who was treated at a famed and costly medical center in the neighboring country. The minister’s traveling babysitter is currently being prosecuted. Second of all, and even more serious, the Brazilian Foreign Minister seeks clarification (the diplomacy of neighbors is often seen as exemplary) of a trip that was never notified to his government and of an agreement signed by Jaua with a leftist group in that country.
