One needn’t admire Maduro (or Castro, for that matter) to
question whether his regime poses a “threat” that requires military action on
our part. We’d get zero support even from Latin American leaders who have more
reason to want Maduro out than we do, and — lest we forget — Venezuela, which
has been prepping for “asymmetrical warfare” in recent years, has 115,000
troops, plus fighter jets and tanks. This would not be a “cakewalk.” Attacking
another sovereign nation, no matter how contemptible, never is. More…
