Venezuela: Colombia Refuses to Sign Statement Against Military Intervention


What Happened: Colombia has refused to sign a statement from the Lima Group rejecting military intervention in Venezuela, W Radio reported Sept. 16.
Why It Matters: The move shows Colombia taking a tougher position against Venezuela by attempting to prepare for a potential military intervention. However, that would only be likely if Venezuela's government requests an intervention from the United Nations, which would probably require a change in government.
