Macron ordered to stay out of Venezuela's affairs: Socialist leader furious at France


“France and the European Union remain convinced that the solution to the crisis in Venezuela can only be peaceful and negotiated,” Mr Macron said, adding that France and its European partners would adopt “additional restrictive measures” against Nicolas Maduro’s regime if it failed to hold democratic elections. Mr Macron’s comments drew a bitter response from Caracas, with Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Arreaza calling on Paris to stay out of Venezuela’s domestic affairs in a series of angry tweets. More…
