Cooperation between
the Iranian and Venezuelan oil and gas companies could pave the way for the enhancement
of bilateral ties between Tehran and Caracas, Maduro said in a meeting with
Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri on Friday night (local time). They
met on the sidelines of the fourth summit meeting of the Gas Exporting
Countries Forum (GECF) in Bolivia’s Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Elsewhere in the
meeting, the Venezuelan president pointed to the US “failed” policies against
Iran, saying his country acknowledges the Islamic Republic’s role in regional
