In its fourth report on Venezuela, the OAS deemed the ANC as
illegitimate. According to the international body, the process that led to the
installation of the ANC “violated the constitutional provisions on the
universality of voting.”“It was a vitiated process from its origin, plagued
with irregularities and violence, in which the basic freedoms of citizenship
were violated,” the OAS said in its report. In this context, the agency
requested the international community to continue applying increasingly harsh
