The number of Venezuelans seeking asylum
in Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico has
jumped dramatically because of the crisis in that country, a new report by the
UN migration agency and the Organization of American States (OAS) said Tuesday.
In the first half of this year, In Costa Rica, around 2,600 asylum applications
are expected for all this year, up from 1,423 last year and just 200 in 2015,
according to national migration data cited in the report. More…
