A US Oil Embargo On Venezuela Is A Terrible Idea - Let Maduro Fail On His Own

There is talk that President Trump is considering imposing sanctions on Venezuela--up to and including an oil embargo. This would be a terrible idea as it would completely tank the Venezuelan economy. More than that it would also provide an excuse for said tanking of the Venezuelan economy and sorry to have to say this but it's better we allow Nicolas Maduro to complete this task on his own. Yes, the Venezuelan people are suffering horribly at present as a result of that socialist mismanagement of the economy ("mismanagement" here actually meaning "mind gargling stupidity") but then that's what always happens with such economic policies. There are quite enough people around the world insisting that the policies of Chavez and then Maduro were a good idea, good enough that we should be following them. For our own sakes we need Bolivarian socialism to be seen to fail in and of itself, not because the US pulled the plug on the major part of the economy, the oil business. More…
