Haley's right on Venezuela

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is right to call out Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro for “destroying human rights and democracy” as she did on Tuesday at the opening of a three-week session of the U.N. Human Rights Council. The irony that Venezuela currently sits on that council — despite Mr. Maduro’s demonstrated willingness to oppress his political opposition and trample the nation’s constitution — should not be overlooked. Since taking office in 2013, Mr. Maduro has overseen a precipitous economic decline that has left more than 85 percent of Venezuelan families suffering from severe food insecurity in recent months, according to Catholic charity Caritas, as reported by The Washington Post.
