
Big-hearted supporters have rallied around to collect vital
medical supplies for people in crisis-hit Venezuela. Last year Aberdeen became
the first UK city to support the Programme of Humanitarian Help for Venezuela
by gathering and delivering medication. The charity focuses on collecting
donations for people in the South American country who need food and medical
supplies. Since the death of President Hugo Chavez in 2013, Venezuelans have
endured economic and political turmoil. Inflation has spiralled to its highest
ever level, making buying and finding medicine difficult. The welcome donations
from the people of Aberdeen can be as basic as a box of aspirin.
