Pope Francis available to attend negotiations between Venezuelan government and opposition

Pope Francis remains perhaps the only hope for Venezuela in the short term. The Apostolic Nuncio in Caracas, Aldo Giordano, said that Bergoglio would be available to attend a meeting between negotiators from the Venezuelan government and opposition. This is not an invitation to call a meeting, said Giordano, but a willingness to participate, should the parties agree to reactivate their dialogue and try to find a common ground.
