Is Venezuela Taking a Non-Electoral Path?


The four members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) who make up the board of directors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) gave another demonstration of their loyalty and subservience to those ruling Venezuela and set conditions for the “renewal” of credentials of the political parties that are very difficult to meet. The decision, announced on Thursday night, will also put the country’s regional elections, which had to be held in December of last year and that the own CNE head Tibisay Lucena announced for the first half of this year, in limbo.
