Venezuela's Chavista Supreme Court "Designates" Government Supporters to Electoral Board


Supreme Court -- not waiting for the National Assembly to appoint them as written in the Constitution --- re-appointed government-supporters Socorro Hernandez and Tania D'Amelio to the National Electoral Board CNE, saying the National Assembly was in "contempt."  The Constitutional Court ruled that the rectors were appointed for the period 2016-2022. "As the first major Rectora Socorro Elizabeth Hernandez, and their alternates Andrés Eloy Brito Denis and Ivan Zerpa Guerrero, respectively; as a second main Rectora Tania D'Amelio Cardiet and their alternates Abdon Hernandez Rodriguez and Gustavo Guevara Sifontes; who already were nominated, and even appointed rectors of the CNE, to meet all the requirements of the Constitution," the Supreme Court wrote.
