Repression Rules in Venezuela with Nicolás Maduro

They say that what starts wrong, ends bad. The so-called Operation Liberation and Protection of the People, or OLP for its acronym in Spanish, got off on the wrong foot and, worse still, continues to make a mess. The massacres in Cariaco, Sucre state, and now in Barlovento, Miranda state, are the most recent cases but not the only where human rights have suffered serious violations. We believe this is not accidental but something that responds to a policy designed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is quite a serious matter. More…
