the Venezuelan military the "goose that lays the golden eggs" in the
country on a silver platter. By Presidential Decree No. 2.231, published in the
ordinary Official Gazette No. 40,845 of February 10, Maduro created a new state
company: The Military Company of Mining Industries, Oil and Gas (Camimpeg). This
company has as social objective to perform "everything relating to the
licit activities of oil, gas and mining services in general, without this
