Venezuela, Canada not confirming each other’s ambassadors


Canada and Venezuela have not accredited each other’s proposed ambassadors, amid simmering political tensions between the Harper Conservatives and the left-wing government in Caracas.   1. Wilmer Omar Barrientos Fernández is not an ambassador. He is an army man often accused of corruption, violations of human rights and narcotraffic. He should not even be in Canada.
