Venezuela's CPI Picks Up Pace in January


Venezuela's notoriously fast-rising consumer prices picked up speed in January, jumping 3.3% compared with the previous month, according to a statement posted Tuesday on the central bank's website. The monthly climb was higher than the 2.2% posted in December and the same as January of 2013. Inflation spanning the 12 months ending in January remained relatively unchanged at 56.3%, up slightly from the 56.2% registered in December and by far the highest rate in the region. More...
