How Can Venezuelans Expect any Changes in Security Matters?

As expected, the topic of citizen security was brought up by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro during the annual “Report and Accounts” address to the nation on Wednesday, but he explained with little clarity what the crime-fighting strategy to protect the population from the rampant violence was. This matter of being among the top 5 most violent countries in the world, and that five of its main cities and state capitals are among the top 80 most violent around the globe, is not to be taken lightly, neither by the rulers directly responsible for correcting the situation nor the population who have everything to lose, including their own lives.
