CEV President: "The government cannot evade its liability for violence"

Making the Venezuelan government listen to people who think otherwise and come to terms to deal with the serious problems undergone in Venezuela is among the objectives of the Venezuelan Bishops' Conference (CEV). Hence, the CEV sees with satisfaction that in 2013, contacts between the government and the Catholic Church resumed and stretched to businesses and opposition mayors and state governors. Nevertheless, CEV President, Monsignor Diego Padrón cautions that talks should somewhat materialize. At the end of the 101st regular meeting of the CEV, Padrón had an interview with daily newspaper El Universal.
